ABUJA, Nigeria —
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has commissioned a major road network connecting the Utako and Mabushi districts of Abuja, a project aimed at improving transportation, connectivity, and economic activity within the Federal Capital Territory.
Among those present at the commissioning ceremony were Hon. Engr. Amodu Khalid Abdulrahaman, Board of Trustees (BOT) Secretary of RIGD and Senior Special Assistant to the Kogi State Governor on Grassroots Mobilization, alongside the FCT APC Chairman, Hon. Tanko Yamawo.
The newly commissioned roads are designed to strengthen connectivity between the high-density commercial and residential districts of Utako and Mabushi, providing improved access for residents, businesses, and commuters across the nation’s capital.
According to information shared at the event, the infrastructure includes modern underground drainage systems, standard pedestrian walkways, and solar-powered street lighting, features intended to enhance safety, durability, and the overall commuting experience.
Supporters of the project described the development as part of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, highlighting ongoing infrastructure investments in the Federal Capital Territory under the administration of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.
They also said the commissioning reflected collaboration between party leaders, government officials, and grassroots mobilizers in supporting infrastructure development across the FCT.
The road project is expected to improve mobility, reduce travel challenges between key districts, and support commercial activities in one of Abuja’s busiest urban corridors.
